I received a wonderful package in the mail from Christine at One Kiss Creations. It contained, amongst other things, a rock that I fell in love with. There is no explaining love. To some it might seem an ordinary sort of rock but to me it was magic.
At first I tried to seed bead bezel it. But, I wasn't happy with that. So I got out the old drill and put a hole through it. Then what? Argh. No color seemed right. I pretty much tried everything. And then I really did try "everything", and to my eyes it worked.
I made tubular seed beaded beads of different lengths. I put some old colored glass beads in between. Once it was finished and I really took a look at it, I realized while I was stitching away muse was working behind the scenes. Tricky girl. She was gathering all the wonderful colors of spring, summer and fall to carry me through the upcoming gray and dark winter. Daffodil and sunflower yellow. Rhubarb and strawberry red. Lilac and velvety iris purple. A slice of bright blue sky. Glowing fall orange. Too many greens to mention. So I love this necklace. When I get up this winter, in the dark on a day when I struggle to get up and off to work, I will put this necklace on. I will wrap my fingers around it and remember all those beautiful colors, and that will nourish me until spring comes.
Thank you Christine <3
Now if I can only figure out what to do with those spools . . .
