Welcome to another A Time To Stitch. These are always such fun blog hops, I never want to miss one. I knew I wanted to do a fully beaded amulet bag, but for the longest time I couldn't figure out exactly what. I rummaged through my old, dusty box of Delicas -- loom or peyote?
An elaborate pattern wasn't going to work, so I went with a patchwork feel
using 3-drop peyote (which just like regular peyote but you pick up
3 beads at a time). It was the perfect choice as I didn't have to pay
too much attention.
I will be in the middle of a move while the hop is going on, so I will look at everyone's blog just as soon as I can. I can't wait!
Happy beading everyone. Here is the list:
WOW!!!!!! That is just gorgeous! you do amazing work Liz.
ReplyDeletethis is so fun and 'jazzy' looking ... I bet all that beaded fringe makes the best sound when you wear it! What a great bag you've got here! good luck with the move
ReplyDeleteHi Liz,
ReplyDeleteAwesomely beautiful amulet bag. I love all the colors and the fringe, I agree with Cynthia it must make a beautiful noise when worn. Good luck with your move. Thank you for joining in on this round of ATTS and hope to see you in the next one.

Liz, great mosaic amulet bag, so simple but so effective too. Just peyote (3 drop peyote is my favourite as it is done faster) and any colour of beads. It can be done with leftovers too. I loved seeing your piece.
ReplyDeleteHappy beading.
Ana
As usual, your work always leave me with my jaw wide open, I always drool when I see what you make. LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it so! Your bag is so alive!!! The colors jump and laugh and shout and clap ~ they are colors of joy :-) I love the patchwork look, the fringe, strap, the possibilities of the scraps of poems tucked inside the bag. Even in the middle of a move, you bring it. I cannot thank you enough for being here :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun piece to wear, and I bet it was just as much fun to create! You will leave a wake of smiles wherever you wear it!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, your bag is outstanding. It is so colorful and has a happy feel to it. All of the colors mean that you can wear it with anything. Good luck with your move.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great, cheerful, bright and happy bag! I'm sure it will bring you an extra smile whenever you wear it. 3-drop peyote was a great idea, because it ended up really looking like a patchwork pieced quilt. Fun!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful amulet bag and I love the pattern. I haven't tried three drop but after seeing this absolutely delightful little bag I am going to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteWow! this bag is so cute. The pattern is lovely , and would match well with any outfit .
ReplyDeleteSuch a happy bag! Love the patchwork, it's just perfect!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is a beautiful bag! It looks like it would be a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteThree count, huh? Created an interesting pattern. Haven't tried it myself though... Great results!
ReplyDeleteJust love your interpretation and especially how you carried the color blocks into the fringe and straps. You mention being able to create it while not paying too much attention but the placement of the colors looks like it would be pretty darn complicated. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeletereally great amulet bag-so interesting patchwork look and fully wearable! good job, Liz!
ReplyDeleteFun!! btw, love your blog header, too. So creative!
