I was stuck on "S". Nothing seemed to be clicking. I was going to do sequins because they are so sparkly and wonderful, but then sand took over. You know how it gets in everything? Well it got in my brain. Ouch! I was going to do a post on Tibetan Buddhist sand mandalas and then I changed my mind yet again, and decided to do sand sculptures. I love sand sculptures. All you need is water and sand, (preferably on a beach but that isn't even necessary). I was fortunate to grow up in southern California and spent many happy hours at the beach, playing in the sand and looking for shells.
The ladybugs are nibbling through the S to meet in the middle, full and happy :-) This sand art is really impressive, but that last photo is eerie and intriguing and even more impermanent. It really draws me in.
ReplyDeleteSand art of any kind is really cool. I grew up on Cape Cod and live in the region once again and am surrounded by beaches. Although no one has sand sculpting contests here. You really only get good, hard packed damp sand at low tide.

oh me too! love sand art. I grew up near the beach and absolutely loved spending the day there digging and building. Love the lady bugs ... it gives this one movement and we could really use a bit of movement on spring!
