BSBP 2014

Today is the day, reveal for BSBP 2014!

WELCOME.  A huge thank you to Lori Anderson.  She has been such a trooper proceeding on with BSBP in the face of her illness.  Get better Lori!

I'm going to get right to it as I know you have a lot to see today.  I was partnered with Katy from On the Pond Creations.  She makes some extremely beautiful things, including the below collar she made for a friend.  Please hop on over to her site.  I'm probably there right now drooling over what she made.

An example of Katy's work, a beautiful seed beaded collar

This is the soup that came knocking on my door.  Isn't it lovely?  Katy made the rectangular polymer clay focal.  I didn't use it in this project but I am looking forward to making something with it soon.

I ended up making two pieces, a necklace and an anklet.  The necklace used the glass focal and many of the soup seed beads.  The anklet used the clasp.  The necklace rope is Herringbone.  Once I stitched the base rope I added extra beads in a spiral pattern up the chain.  Due to all the extra beads the chain has a larger diameter at the focal end and tapers to a smaller diameter by the clasp.

For the anklet I was inspired by Christine at One Kiss Creations.  She has been doing simplified weaving and I just love what she comes up with.  Using some purple pearls, this is about as girlie as I can get.

Thanks for your visit.  I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone made.  For the full, and I do mean FULL (almost 500!) participant list please go HERE.

Thank You ;-) You always make THE coolest beadwork pieces and I couldn't wait to see what came out of your hands and head today. I love that necklace~the rope you made is beautiful and those added beads give it a great dimension and added texture. It is gorgeous. The anklet has a whole lotta love going on...the purple, pearls, cool clasp, and the FRINGE. Oh Yea...fringe on an anklet...a whole heaping lotta love, indeed! Katy's piece is Gorgeous~that sunburst in the center is fantastic!

  4. Great job Liz! I so love how you used the thick beaded rope to go with that giant focal I sent. It really balances the size of the focal out well. And I love how the rope tapers a bit toward the clasp. I love the colors in the anklet - I so love purple! Yay!

  27. Hi Liz,
Just dropping by from the Olive Grove as I said I would. I like the pictures even if I don't have much idea about the beads. Thank you for your comment on my blog. I'd have replied sooner, but I was rushing around sorting myself out for my return to the UK to see herself. I'm here now and all is good. When I get the chance I must post something from here.
    Best wishes,
