What It's About

I took this picture over 25 years ago, while I was traveling to some islands off the coast of Thailand.  It’s a picture that still means a lot to me.   It’s a little hard to see, but there are five fishing boats pulling a sixth boat that is sinking.  To me this picture represents the best in us, the true realization of what it is to be human.   We are connected to each other, just like the barely visible ropes connecting the boats to each other.   At some point in our lives we may be the first boat in the chain, and at other points we may be the last boat, the one that’s sinking.   We all play a part.   We all need each other.
