New Work

I’m excited about this piece.  It’s my first attempt using stringing and bead embroidery together in a non-jewelry piece.  The idea has been swirling in my head for months, now that I see I like I it want to do a few more.  I’m not tired of the mandalas, but it's time to start branching out.

I made this piece specifically to be displayed at a small local art exhibit.  It's not meant to go on the wall, it's free standing.

It’s about the moment in time when a burden has been lifted from your shoulders, and how good that feels.

I don’t have a title for it yet, any suggestions?

  2. Fabulous, I love it!

Evokes a sense of freedom or flying were the words that sprung to mind when I looked at.

I like this direction you're going in!

  3. A successful mind to matter piece. You really captured the human form in flight and the suspension is masterful. Beautiful presentation with the stand. A winner in every way.

Also, wanted to touch base with you about the AtoZ April Challenge. I remember that was where we first met last year. I am a minion/helper this year and am spreading the word about signing up. Links on my Sidebar.

  4. Good stuff. The minute I saw the piece it brought to mind Steve Winwood's album Arc of a Diver, which contained the great single While You See A Chance. The diver on the album cover bends a different way to your figure, but it's all good. Impressed, as ever.

What a mind you have for creating art that makes people Feel and Think.
This is masterpiece...simple and complex all at the same time.

  7. Gorgeous Liz, I love the how the figure is suspended in mid air and of course the bling factor. Jubilation comes to mind a feeling of accomplishment and easy excitement.
