50

So, I'm turning 50.  40 didn't bother me one bit, but 50 has made me think.  Half a century.  To mark the occasion I wanted to do something special, so I decided to treat myself to my very first tattoo.  I looked up images, combined features I liked, and made a sketch of what I wanted.  Here is a picture of how it came out.

It represents the freedom of my spirit.
In whatever years I have left I want to become lighter, loose physical and mental baggage.
I want to be more adventurous.
I want to be kinder, more forgiving and more generous.
I want to be able to recognize truth and honor beauty.
I want to be able to know when to hold on, and when to let go.

Before I was afraid of getting a tattoo, knowing I could never remove it.  But now that I'm 50 not being able to remove it is the whole point.  I want it to remind me of who I want to be, and how I want to live my life.  I never want those thoughts to go away.

  5. Are you still enjoying your tattoo?

I never considered getting a tattoo, but you have provided a good reason for getting one.

  6. Enjoy! I hope the tattoo reminds you of all you want to achieve.
Personally, I'm hoping to treat myself to a big honking piece of jewelry and let the blinding sparkle remind me of all I want the last half of my life to be (lol!)
